Kenya’s ambassador to China Sarah Serem addressed the mounting criticism that her government is not doing enough to support Kenyan students trapped in Wuhan, the epicenter of the burgeoning coronavirus epidemic.
Ambassador Serem explained in an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday that evacuating the students, as other countries have done recently for their nationals, would create unnecessary risks of spreading the deadly virus back home where the public health infrastructure is not as robust as it in China.
