With more than 10 million doses of vaccines delivered to date, Zimbabwe is now the largest recipient of Chinese-made vaccines in Sub-Saharan Africa and second only to Morocco (22.5 million) on the continent as a whole.
Aside from the vaccine delivery in Harare last week, Chinese vaccine shipments elsewhere on the continent have all but come to a halt, at least temporarily. Only 200,000 doses of Chinese-made vaccines were distributed last week, according to the latest data from the Beijing-based consultancy Bridge Beijing’s vaccine tracker report.
